El preparador John Pinochet está a sólo nueve carreras de su triunfo N° 1.000. De sus 30 años como trainer y del orgullo de ganar el G1 El Derby 2018 habló con #Vamosalahipica:
«Desde los cuatro años viví en el corral 4, que hoy es de Wilson Robles. Mi papá fue un buen preparador y me enseñó todo. Fue bonito cuidar caballos y terminé mi enseñanza media en la noche. Mi regalón fue Banderillero, de Patricio Millar, que ganó 16 carreras y hasta 2.000 metros. Se extrañan las carreras de fondo y formar un fondista es difícil. Trato de no correr seguido a mis F.S., pero en Chile los caballos corren demasiado. Todos los propietarios quieren correr clásicos, pero nosotros debemos aterrizar las expectativas. Voy a cumplir 29 años de matrimonio. Gracias a los propietarios de Leitone por poder preparar ese tremendo caballo. Se nos accidentó de gravedad en el proceso de amansa. Me gusta estar cerca y por eso viajé de madrugada. Siempre quise correr El Derby y Leitone me permitió ganarlo», confesó a #Vamosalahipica.
